I got a preview copy of your Easy Cooler Care and I must say this is the most exciting book on a subject that there is literally very little information on. I would be interested in ordering 80 copies of this book for our library and if you offer a discount that would be great. You really should work with the Home Depot and other big hardware outlets in the Southwest to have them carry your book because this would have tremendous sales with people in Tucson.

As an east coast guy that has moved to Albuquerque just a year and a half ago, I was not familiar with swamp coolers and how they function. Also, being an ASHI certified inspector and home inspection instructor, I needed a crash course in evaporator cooler functions and operations. I have found your book to be invaluable in it's easy to read and understand language, organization and has lots of great pictures to boot. It also has helped me to do winterization on my coolers. I took your advice and covered my coolers with metal panels and maintain oil levels on my pillow bushings.

If you buy only one home maintenance book this year, I suggest buying Larry Galpin's EASY COOLER CARE.

I found your book very helpful. Thanks for a great book. I purchased your book soon after we moved into our Tucson, AZ home. We have 2 evaporative coolers, a main large one connected to the central AC / Heater and a smaller one providing cool air to the garage. Since we are from the northeast (New York City area) this was my first time dealing with evaporative coolers. Your book made it easy to identify the parts of the coolers and determine what needed to be serviced or changed. Pictures and instructions were always clear and straight forward. The guidance provided by your book allowed me to get both my coolers working in short order. Also, encouraged by the guidance in your book I performing a thorough inspection of the evaporative cooler / Heater - AC combo and the associated ductwork.

Hi Larry,

I really have enjoyed my Easy Cooler Care. It really helped me when I was living in NM to know how to handle that "beast on the roof." I liked that it was easy enough for me to understand, but complete enough to actually have me doing some fairly complex repairs. Both the text and pictures were great - I can't think of how I'd change it to make it better. The book fit my needs perfectly. When I was packing to move up here, I pondered the book. I wouldn't need it here, so I really should have left it. But in the end, I decided that it had been such a good resource for me, and I don't know what will happen in the future - perhaps I'll get another job in an area that uses swamp coolers. So, I kept it. I just couldn't leave it behind. Thank you for this valuable resource!
